Why Vote for Me?

Over the past 20 years I have been a student, a teacher, a mentor, a coach, a wife, a mother, a business owner, a church member, a traveler, and a leader.  My experiences have provided me with a vast range of opportunities in which I have learned to become responsible, be organized, be observant, ask questions, and speak my opinion.  I have a voice and I want to be able to provide my suggestions and listen to other people's point of view to collaborate and come up with solutions to issues pertaining to the Catawba County School system.

When I assume responsibility for a particular position, I take the role personally and I give it 100% of my devotion.  I am not trying to become a part of the Catawba County School Board because I am upset about any issues.  I want to become a part of the Catawba County School Board because I think I can help make Catawba County Schools better for all of the students, teachers, and employees.

At the local level, I was an active parent with the PTO at Catawba Elementary School when my son, Aiden, attended grades K-6.  Aiden now attends Mill Creek Middle School.

Prior to being a Mom, I was a teacher and volleyball coach in the Cabarrus County School System.

Through the years, I have observed various strengths and weaknesses in students.  Student weaknesses need to be addressed and guidance needs to be provided for them to be able to achieve their benchmarks.  Additionally, their different strengths should be seen as individual gifts and these gifts need to be nurtured throughout their education so they will become successful young adults upon departure from the Catawba County School system.  As a community of active participants, it is a responsibility that all of us who are involved (students, parents, teachers, administrators, school board members, and other staff members) need to share.
