My Professional  Experience

Educational Background

  • December 1998: I received my undergraduate degree from UNC-Charlotte in Middle Grades Education with concentrations in Science and Mathematics.

  • January 1999 - November 2004: I taught for the Cabarrus County School system.  I completed an interim position teaching 8th grade mathematics at J.N. Fries Middle School after graduation.  I then taught 8th grade mathematics at Concord Middle School, where I was also able to coach the Concord High School volleyball team.  I was a student athlete when I was in school and I wanted to give back to students in a different light, through coaching.  Lastly, I taught 7th grade mathematics at C.C. Griffin Middle School and I also had the opportunity to coach their volleyball team.

  • May 2013: I graduated from Appalachian State University with my master's degree in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in Mathematics.

  • Even though I am no longer teaching, I have maintained my teaching credentials by attending various professional development workshops over the years.
